Marilyn J. Noel, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 12, 2011. Marilyn was born on February 25, 1933 to Orval and Hazel (Carver) Johnson. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1951 and was married to Ralph Noel in 1952. Prior to her retirement, she worked many years at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. Marilyn will be remembered for her strong love of both her family and Jesus, as well as her sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ralph; two children, Linda (Brian) Slycord and Randy (Angie) Noel; a brother, Eugene Johnson of Des Moines; seven grandchildren: Hannah, Zeb, Sarah, Abby and Beka Noel and Shaun and Sydney Slycord, all of Norwalk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Hazel Johnson, as well as her infant daughter Brenda.

A Memorial Service will be held at Fellowship Community Church in Norwalk on Monday, August 15 at 10:30, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery. Family will greet friends Sunday evening from 4 - 7 at the Brooks South Town Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to either Fellowship Community Church or Taylor House Hospice.
