Marie Roberts Services Held

Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 7, for Marie S. Roberts, who died last Friday, January 4 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 90 years of age.

Mrs. Roberts was born in Madison County on November 3, 1883, the daughter of Lewis and Willamena Brase Niendorf. She was married to George Roberts in Winterset in 1902.

Mrs. Roberts had lived in Madison County most of her lifetime, and returned to this county from Arizona after the death of her husband in 1955. She was affiliated with the Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter.

Survivors include one son, Paul, of Phoenix, Arizona; and three daughters, Mrs. Alcy Utsler of Winterset, Mrs. Lucille Hope of St. Charles, and Mrs. Dorothy Gray of Winterset.

Also surviving are two brothers, Lewis Niendorf of Winterset and Herman Niendorf of Van Meter, and two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Kneuper of Winterset and Mrs. Amanda Marquardt of Van Meter. In addition, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and one brother.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 7 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the pastor E. A. Breihotz officiating.

Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
