Death of Annon James

Annon James died Tuesday night at the Winterset hospital. He had entered the hospital Thursday for treatments and a major operation. Mr. James had been in ill health, undergoing an operation in December.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday at 1:30 o'clock at the Tidrick funeral home and burial will be in the Baptist cemetery north of town.

Mr. James is survived by his wife and three stepchildren, Fred of Des Moines, Jessie of New York City and Mabel. He is also survived by a brother, Bert James of Myrtle Point, Oregon.

Mr. James was 62 years of age in August. He was born and raised near Buffalo and was a member of one of the pioneer families of Madison county. His parents were John and Parmla James and he was the grandson of one of the early Madison county pioneers - Aquilla Smith.

Mortuary - Annon James

Annon James was born August 6, 1869 and passed away at the hospital in Winterset on February 23, 1932, aged 62 years, 4 months and 17 days. He was united in marriage to Stella Danforth McCleary July 13, 1924.

He has lived most of his life in Madison county. He spent a number of those years on a farm.

He leaves to mourn his death, a wife, Mrs. Annon James, one brother, Burt James of Myrtle Point, Oregon.

Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Church of Christ conducted his funeral services held Thursday at 1 o'clock at Tidrick's funeral home and burial was in the Baptist cemetery north of town.
