Charles Hunter, a former resident of Earlham died at Marshalltown Friday, February 19th. Mr. Hunter was injured a short time ago, when he attempted to lift a heavy plate glass and his death followed a few days afterwards.
He leaves his wife and eight children. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hunter of Earlham and a brother of Ralph and Fred Hunter, the owners of the Ford garage in Earlham. He is a cousin of R. O. Brock of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday and burial was made there.

Son of W. A. Hunter is Survived by Widow and Eight Children Following Accident.
Charles E. Hunter, son of W. A. Hunter and a brother of Ralph, Harry and Fred Hunter and Mrs. Harry Fastle of Earlham, died Friday afternoon at St. Thomas hospital in Marshalltown. Death was due to injuries received by Mr. Hunter several days ago when a crated plate glass which he was unloading fell and crushed him. Funeral services were held Monday from the Estel funeral home in Marshalltown with the Rev. C. C. Bacan of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at that place. All immediate relatives were present from Earlham.
Charles Edgar Hunter was born in Winterset 49 years ago, and removed later with his parents to Earlham. He graduated from the Earlham Academy in 1903. Two years later he removed to Belle Plaine. In 1908 he was married to Miss Dessie Fickes at Mason City, establishing a home in Marshalltown where they have lived continuously for 24 years.
Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife and eight children, Helen, 23 of Ashfork, Ariz; Darwin, 21, Phoenix, Ariz.; Eleanor, 18; Ralph, 16; Lois, 12; Jean and Jane, 10, twins; and Margaret, 5, all of the home. Besides the brothers and sister residing at Earlham he is survived by Mrs. Herman Silzor, a sister, of Peoria, Ill.
