Funeral Services were held last Wednesday for Robert D. Fulton, a former resident of Madison County.
Mr. Fulton died Sunday, December 15 at the Medicenter of America in Des Moines. He was 70 years of age. Robert D. Fulton was born at Clarkston, Washington on June 27, 1904, the son of Harold and Emma J. Melton Fulton.
He was married to Helen Irene Simmons at Grant City, Missouri on July 21, 1934.
Mr. Simmons worked as a farmer for many years, then as a highway construction worker. In recent years he had been employed as a Quaintance worker for the Iowa State Fair.
He was a resident of Madison County for a period of 25 years and was affiliated with the Gatchel United Methodist Church in Des Moines.
Survivors include his wife Helen; six daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise ------------, Mrs. Donald (Roberta Jean) Fitch, Mrs. Thelma Elaine Michael, and Mrs. Gerhard (Kay) Kruger, all of Des Moines, Mrs. William (Patricia Ann) Consolver of Waukee, and Mrs. Wallace (Fay) Witham of Phoenix, Arizona.
Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren; two brothers, Lester W. Fulton, Sr. of New Liberty and Charles W. of North Pole, Alaska; and four sisters, Mrs. Louise Loomis of Osceola, Mrs. Daisy Laughery of Murray, Mrs. Hazel Carpenter of Idaho and Mrs. Lorraine Miller of California.
He was pro ceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 18 at the Gatchel United Methodism Church in Des Moines and at 2: p.m. Wednesday at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Henry Bevel and Rev. Richard Pfaltegraff officiated.
Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
