Iowana June Brownlee, 71, Marceline, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, died Oct. 9, 1993, in a nursing home in Marceline. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Bentley-Delaney Chapel, Marceline; burial in Peden Chapel Cemetery, near Marceline.

The family suggests contributions to the New Hope Baptist Fellowship, Marceline. Mrs. Brownlee was born in Winterset, Iowa, and lived in this area before she moved to Marceline eight years ago.

She was a secretary for the Pacific Mutual Insurance Co. in this area before she retired. She was a member of the church.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda G. Brownlee, Port Townsend, Wash., and a grandson.

Iowana June Brownlee, 71, died Saturday evening, Oct. 9, 1993 at Pioneer Health Center in Marceline. Services were held Tuesday morning, Oct. 12 at Bentley-Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline.

Mrs. Brownlee was born June 27, 1922 in Winterset, Iowa, daughter of James Oscar and Goldia (Cupp) Pippin.

Mrs. Brownlee had worked as a secretary for Pacific Mutual Insurance Co. in Kansas City for several years. She had been a resident of Marceline for the past eight years, moving from Kansas City after her retirement.

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Fellowship Church in Marceline and was active in Sunday school and church activities. She had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1953 and had served on the Marceline Library Board of Directors and the Senior Center Advisory Board.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda G. Brownlee of Port Townsend, Washington; a grandson, Beniah J. Brownlee-Beaulieu, also of Port Townsend, Washington; and a niece, Melissa Pippin of Topeka, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Pippin. Burial was in Peden Chapel Cemetery, east of Marceline.
