Carroll N. C. Hayden, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Hayden, was born Feb. 25, 1912 on a farm near Truro. In 1914 he moved with his parents to a farm near Peru, where he spent the remainder of his short life. He had just completed the third grade in school, when he was taken suddenly ill and after a short period of sickness of one day and night, he passed away. The cause of his death was pronounced spinal apoplexy and took him away at the age of 9 years and 3 months. He leaves to mourn his loss, a father, mother, two sisters, Mabel Hayden and Mrs. Loy Delong; a number of relatives and a host of friends. He is greatly missed by all who knew him and his place in the home remains vacant. Funeral services were held in the home at 2:30 on May 25th. Interment was made in the Peru cemetery.
