Death of GRANDMOTHER TROUB

Mrs. Baloma Frederick Troub, better known as Grandmother Troub, died at her home on East Green street on July 24th, 1917, at the advanced age of 94 years.

She was born in 1823 in Borden, Germany, coming to America in 1853. One child died on the boat and was buried at sea. The family located first in Ft. Madison, later in Burlington, Mt. Pleasant and Pella, successively, settling finally in Madison county in 1872. Until sixteen years ago, they lived on a farm east of Winterset.

Mr. Troub died twelve years ago. Two sons and two daughters survive their mother. She was patient in her old age, when weakened by the natural decline of her physical powers. Her neighbors valued her quaint sturdy character and will miss her greatly from her accustomed place.

The funeral services were held Thursday morning at St. Joseph's church, conducted by Rev. Troy.
