Clyde Youmans Died Friday -

Funeral services were held this Tuesday afternoon for Clyde W. Youmans, a well-known Madison County farmer. Mr. Youmans died at his home near Peru last Friday, November 22 at the age of 82.

Clyde William Youmans was born at El Reno, Oklahoma on March 14, 1892, the son of Russell and Julia Deardorff Youmans. He came to Madison County with his parents when he was a small boy, and obtained his education in the Zion and Truro Schools.

Mr. Youmans was married to Floy Fenimore on February 5, 1911 at the home of her parents in Scott Township.

In addition to being one of Madison County's more successful farmers, Mr. Youmans was associated with the Pioneer Seed Corn Company for 29 years.

A member of the United Methodist Church at Peru, Mr. Youmans also belonged to the Masonic Lodge at Peru.

Mr. Youmans is survived by his wife Floy; two daughters, Le Nore (Mrs. James) May of Oxen Hill, Maryland and La Vere (Mrs. Lloyd) Cumings of Peru and by one son, Phillip Youmans of Des Moines.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Henry (Gladys) Bierma of Lorimor.

Mr. Youmans was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ernest Youmans, two half-sisters, Mrs. Clara Brown and Mabel Youmans and a half-brother, Elmer Youmans.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon November 26 at the United Methodist Church at Peru, with Dr. Paul Hann, Dr. Walter Samp, Rev. Robert Cumings and Rev. Richard Hempenlus officiating.

Burial was in the Peru Cemetery.

Clyde Youmans Dies Friday

Clyde William Youmans, 82, died at his home near Peru on Friday, November 22, 1974. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 26, from the United Methodist Church in Peru at 2 p.m. with Dr. Paul Hann, Dr. Walter Samp, and the Rev. Robert Cummings and Rev. Richard Hempenius officiating. Interment will be in the Peru Cemetery.

Clyde William Youmans was born in El Reno, Oklahoma, on March 14, 1892, son of Russell David Youmans and Julia E. Deardorff Youmans. He attended schools in Zion and Truro and on February 5, 1911, was married to Floy Fenimore in Scott Township. Three children were born to this union.

He farmed as an occupation and was associated with the Pioneer Seed Corn for 29 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Peru.

Survivors include his wife, Floy of Peru; daughter, LeNore May and husband, James of Oxon Hill, Maryland; daughter, LaVere Cummings and husband, Lloyd of Peru; son Phillip Youmans and wife, Maxine of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Henry (Gladys) Bierma of Lorimor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ernest Youmans; two half sisters, Mrs. Clara Brown and Mable Youmans and one half brother, Elmer Youmans.
