Mary G. Hayden of Peru, a longtime resident of Madison County, died at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset last Saturday, November 30. She was 75 years of age.
Mary Gladys Hayden was born at Murray, Iowa on September 18, 1899, the daughter of Joseph and Harriet Gaumer Sanders. She was married to Dennis G. Hayden at Murray on February 25, 1917.
Mrs. Hayden, a resident of this county for the past 57 years was affiliated with the Grace Baptist Church of Winterset.
Survivors include one son, Merle Guy Hayden of Davenport and one daughter, Wanda Marie Simmons of Winterset. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as two brothers, Merle Sanders of Phoenix, Arizona and Joe Sanders of Des Moines.
Mrs. Hayden was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dennis, one daughter, Frieda L. Beedle and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 3 at the Grace Baptist Church in Winterset with Pastor Lon Reising officiating.
Burial was made in the Peru Cemetery in Peru.
