Page 1Death of Mrs. Butler Kellogg
Mrs. Butler Kellogg died Wednesday morning, February 15th, at her home in the southwest part of town, at the age of 92 years. Mrs. Kellogg had been in failing health since she became ill with the flu four weeks ago.
She is survived by four children, Elmer, of Council Bluffs; Edgar, of Logan; U. S., of La Junta, Colorado, and Miss Ida, who made her home with her mother.
Rev. A. P. Keast is conducting the funeral services at the Tidrick funeral home, this afternoon at three o’clock and burial will be made in the local cemetery.
Mrs. Kellogg came to Winterset from Logan, in Harrison county in 1900, and has since made this place her home.

Page 3Ruth Ann Cole was born in Madison county, Indiana, April 29th, 1835, and passed away at her home in southwest Winterset, February 14th, 1928, at the age of 92 years, 8 months and 16 days.
She was married to Butler Kellogg on the 3rd day of May, 1858, in Indiana, where they made their home until 1869 when they moved to Nebraska, living there for one year. They moved to Logan, Harrison county, Iowa, in 1870, and were at home there until 1900, when they came to Winterset and have made this their home since. Mr. Kellogg died on April 17th, 1916.
To them were born five children, four sons and one daughter. Three sons and the daughter survive, one son dying in infancy. These are: Elmer E. Kellogg, of Council Bluffs; Edgar B. Kellogg, of Logan; Ulysses S. Kellogg, of La Junta, Colorado, and Mary Ida Kellogg, of Winterset.
Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive her. Mrs. Kellogg was a good and unselfish mother and neighbor, home-loving and quiet, but devoted to her family and friends.
