JONATHAN M. KEENIE

Jonathan Martin Keenie died at his home on Tuesday afternoon, May 19th, at four o'clock, after an illness of four months. He was born in Polk county, Iowa, Jan. 20, 1849 and at the time of his death was aged 68 years, 4 months and 9 days.

In the year of 1880 he was married to Miss Bertis Barker and they went to housekeeping on a farm in Madison county. After four years of farming they moved to Macksburg, where they have resided ever since. To this union were born three children: Charles, of Rockwell City; Mrs. Jennie Macumber of Macksburg and Earl, who is at home. These together with the wife and six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends are left to mourn his departure.
