Death of HENRY CLAY MURPHY

Henry Clay Murphy died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines on Tuesday at the age of 80 years. Mr. Murphy came from Indiana to Earlham, in 1878, residing there eight years. Since that time he has been a resident of Des Moines.

For two years he was Polk county treasurer, and is a well known Grand Army man, serving in Co. G, 48th Indiana Volunteers. He was a 32d degree Mason and a Shriner as well. Mr. Murphy was well known in this county as a highly respected citizen.
