Mrs. Henrietta Lavina Chittick, the daughter of Phillip and Mary Fett was born July 1, 1871 near Millersburg, Ohio and passed away in Stuart April 6, 1944 at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 5 days.

At the age of 7 she with her folks came to Dexter, Iowa where she grew to womanhood. She was married August 12, 1888 to Oscar William Vogel. To this union three daughters blessed her home. They were Mary Mabel, Pearl May and Rose Esther, and the latter two preceded her in death. Twelve years ago April 16, 1932 her husband passed away. On Nov. 4, 1938 she was married to William F. Chittick. Mrs. Chittick has been a resident of Stuart for 39 years.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, William Chittick, one daughter, Mrs. Mabel James of Stuart, one grandson Gilbert James; brothers Louis of Casey, Iowa and Eli of Hollywood, Calif. and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held from the Lutheran church of Dexter of which she was a member. Her minister, Kirk Daib conducted the services Saturday afternoon and she was laid to rest in the family lot of Penn Center. Six of her nephews were casket bearers, Will Scar, Fred Scar, Harvey Fett, Dale Fett, Adolph Jobst, and Carl Jensen.

Scar, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Jobst, of Earlham; Mr. Harvey Fett, Mrs. Mary Petrie, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hill and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith and family, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Jones and Maxine of Dexter.
