OBITUARY

Ora Francis Sulgrove, second son of W. S. and Eva Sulgrove, was born in Lunt, South Dakota, October 28, 1890 and passed away Thursday afternoon February 21, 1946 at his home in Forsythe, Missouri, at the age of 55 years 3 months and 24 days. At an early age he moved with his parents to Madison County, Iowa, where he spent the greater part of his life. He attended the Earlham Academy and was graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic at Davenport, Iowa. He practiced his profession at Terre Haute, Indiana, and it was from there that he entered the service of his country in World War I. He spent six months overseas and it was during his army life that he developed arthritis from which he never fully recovered.

In the year 1923 he was united in marriage to Lola Cunningham of Redfield. They moved to their farm in Madison County and his wife passed away the following year in 1924. Immediately following the death of his wife his mother came to live with him and remained until her death in 1936. After his mother’s passing and until the year 1942 he made his home with his brother, L. L. Sulgrove, when they all moved to Forsythe, Missouri, which has since been their home. He had been in fairly good health, was stricken suddenly with a heart attack and passed away very suddenly Thursday afternoon.

He leaves to mourn his death, 4 brothers, Willard M., and Lester L., of Forsythe, Missouri, Everett S. of Dexter and George B. of Earlham, 2 sisters, Mrs. Grace Rockzeim of Charles City and Mrs. Lois Moore of Earlham, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Dock, as he was known to his friends united with the Early Chapel Christian Church early in manhood. He was highly respected and revered by all who knew him. Kindness and consideration for everyone was one of his greatest assets and the joy of his life. Never was he happier than when making some one else happy, ready and willing to lend a helping hand on every occasion. His death comes as a distinct shock to his relatives and friends and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
