Margaret Hillan, third daughter of Mark and Lizzie Hillan, was born September 26, 1877 in Madison county, Iowa and passed from this earthly life at her home in Dexter, July 7th, 1935.

Her childhood was spent in Winterset, Iowa, where she received her education. She later taught in the schools of Madison county for about five years and was one of its most successful teachers.

At the age of fifteen she responded to the call of the Master and united with the Baptist church at Winterset.

On December 1, 1908 she was united in marriage to Richard C. Storck. They established their home in Madison county and with the exception of six years spent in North Dakota, they have lived in the vicinity of Earlham and Dexter.

Having no children of their own they took into their home Cecile Berglund at the age of eleven years and gave her the parental care and love which they would have bestowed upon one of their own.

Margaret was of a kindly and helpful disposition, a good home-maker, a kind neighbor and friend and always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, her foster daughter, Mrs. H. A. Hensler of Des Moines, three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Geyer of Rosewell, New Mexico, Miss Sarah Hillan of Des Moines and Mrs. Eva Losey of Hagerman, New Mexico, and a host of relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by the many children of the community in whom she has manifested a great interest in their welfare.

The funeral services were held at the Dexter Lutheran church Tuesday at two p.m. conducted by the pastor, Reverend K. Daib, with burial in the Earlham cemetery.
