Florence Eichner, 92, died February 18, 2011 at Israel Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
Florence was born July 28, 1918 near St. Charles, Iowa to Frank and Zella (Sankey) Downs. She married Walter Eichner in March 1940. They farmed all of their lives near Booneville Iowa and raised their family. After retirement, they spent many years as winter Texans; where they danced and visited with lifelong friends.
Florence is survived by Mary Ellen (Mike) Perry, San Diego California, Dennis (Susan) Eichner, Ames, Iowa and Don (Mary) Eichner, Ames, Iowa. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter and infant son Frank.
A family service will be held graveside in St. Charles. A celebration of her life will be held this summer when the weather is warm and the corn is high. Friends and family will be notified of the date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Israel Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

A graveside memorial for Florence will be held at 11 a.m., St. Charles cemetery, Saturday, July 30, 2011. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather at the St. Charles Lion's community center.
