Mary Lenocker was born in Holmes county, Ohio, May 1, 1852. In 1868 she, with the family, moved to Owen county, Indiana. In 1869, the family moved to Penn township, Madison county, Iowa. In 1870, she was united in marriage to William L. Koehler, and for years they made their home on a farm two miles south of Penn Center. She was an active member of the Penn Center M. E. church. W. L. Koehler passed away September 1895 in Hooker, Nebr., where they lived at that time. He was brought to Dexter and burial was made in the Penn Center cemetery.

In 1906, she established her home in Fresno, Calif., where in 1915, she was married to Frank Barr, who preceded her in death eight months ago.

In May 1930, her health having failed, she was taken to Mansfield, Ohio, and was cared for at the home of her foster daughter, Mrs. Minnie Robinson, where she passed away Monday morning, March 16, 1931, at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

Those left to mourn their loss are her daughter, Minnie Robinson of Mansfield, Ohio, her sister, Lou Simonds of Casper, Wyo., one brother, J. W. Lenocker of Des Moines, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Her sister, Mrs. George Leeper of Dexter, passed away six weeks ago at her home in Dexter..

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Dexter Methodist church by Rev. W. L. Nixon. Interment was made in the Penn Center cemetery.
