Death of Fred Cassiday

Fred Cassiday, who formerly lived in Winterset, died quite suddenly, Monday night, June 20th, at his home in Portland, Oregon. He had not been well for the past few years, but had seemed greatly improved, during the last two months. Monday night, he complained of not feeling well, and he retired early. His wife heard a peculiar sound in the bedroom, and he died before she reached him.

Mr. Cassiday was born in Winterset, July 18th, 1868. He moved to Portland in 1888 and was in business there.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Cassiday, and one sister, Mrs. Lillian A. Harned.

Funeral services were held at Finley’s undertaking parlors in Portland, and he was buried by the side of his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Cassiday, and his sister, Nellie Cassiday Jeffers.
