Bevington, May 4, Special -
Adam Siedel, a resident of Madison and Warren counties for many years, died at his home one-half mile north of here, Saturday, April 30th, at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 14 days. Mr. Siedel was of German descent and was a native of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by eight sons and one daughter, Mrs. Annie Farnsworth of Kansas. Three daughters have been dead for a number of years. The sons are Adam Jr. of South Dakota, William of Winterset, Joseph of Des Moines, Albert of Granger, Frank of Canada, and John, Theodore and Edward of this place.
Funeral services were held from the Catholic church in St. Mary’s Monday morning, the Rev. Joseph Minch conducting the services, interment was in the St. Mary’s cemetery.

Page 6, Columns 5, 6 & 7Adam Siedel was born near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, October, 1836, and died at his home at Bevington, April 30th, 1927, where he lived with his son, Ed. He was a veteran of the Civil war, having enlisted at its outbreak in the Pennsylvania Light Artillery and served to its close. After his discharge he enlisted in the regular army, was stationed in Wisconsin, and served for three years.
He was united in marriage April 16th, 1866, to Miss Mary Aterwald. To this union were born thirteen children, nine of whom are living.
The family came from Wisconsin to Iowa in 1876, and have lived in the vicinity of Bevington ever since.
He is survived by eight sons, a daughter Mrs. Anna Farnsworth of Kansas, thirty grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jos. Minch of the St. Marys Catholic church on Monday with six of his sons acting as casket bearers. Interment was made in the St. Mary’s cemetery beside his wife who died eighteen years ago.
