MORTUARY

William Sherman Teets, the oldest son of William and Elizabeth Teets, was born at Grandview, Iowa, August 29th, 1866, and passed away at West Branch, April 19th, 1927, where he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Otto Hill.

On January 18th, 1893, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Belle Esmoil. To this union three children were born, two dying in infancy. When first married they lived in the vicinity of Muscatine, and later moving to Truro, where his wife preceded him in death twenty-three years ago. For the past fifteen years he has resided in West Branch, where he was officially employed as marshall for many years. The town officers and committee have expressed and extended their appreciation to the family.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Otto Hill, and husband; four grandchildren, Ethel Irene, Emily Harriett, John Elizabeth, and Sheman Ernest; one sister, Mrs. Belle Beckey of Grandview; two half sisters, Mrs. Harry Buck of Albia and Nettie Teets of Oakdale, and one half brother, John Teets, of Peru, where the remains were taken and laid beside his wife.

Peru

The body of W. S. Teets of West Branch was brought here Thursday night to the home of his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Teets. The funeral was held in the M.E. church Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Cottingham, and burial made in the Ebenezer cemetery by the side of his wife.

Those who came with the body were his daughter, Mrs. Otto Hill, and husband and son, Sherman, of West Branch; a sister, Mrs. Belle Beckey, and son, Harry, of Grandview; a brother-in-law, Chas. Toyne, of Atalissa; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Josephine Dick of Independence.
