Page 1Miss Emma Vaughan, 16 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Vaughan, died at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Hannah Weeks, in Newton, Wednesday evening. Miss Vaughan went to Newton to take treatments for heart trouble about three months ago. She became much worse while there and was never able to be brought home. Blindness was caused during her last days of illness.
She is survived by her mother and father, four sister, Mrs. Vernon Clark, living west of town, Mrs. Clarence Wiley, Mrs. Lawrence White and Miss Lenore Vaughan of Ft. Dodge; and two brothers, Willard at home, and Arthur of Newton.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wiley, Mrs. Lawrence White and Willard Vaughan left for Newton this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Vaughan have been in Newton for some time.
Her body is being brought here today, but definite funeral arrangements have not been made.

Page 3Emma Vaughan, daughter of Willis and Eda Vaughan, was born in a farm northwest of Winterset, January 16th, 1910, and died Wednesday, August 17th, at Newton. Her entire life was lived in the county, except for four years spent, at Newton. Emma attended the public schools of Madison county. She was a member of the Winterset Church of Christ.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her father and mother, four sisters, Miss Lenore, who teaches in Ft. Dodge, Mrs. Clarence Wiley, Mrs. Alice Clark, and Mrs. Estella White of Winterset and two brothers, Arthur of Newton, and Willard of Winterset. She is also survived by several aunts, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. Clare McCallon, at the Church of Christ, Friday, August 19th, at 2 o’clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
