CHARLES BRADLEY

Charles Bradley son of John and Eliza Bradley, was born in Ashland county, Ohio, June 10, 1848 and died at his home in Truro, June 21, 1916, aged 68 years and 10 days.

At the age of 8 years he moved with his parents to Scott county, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Melinda Rosen, Jan. 17, 1878. To this union were born four children: Cora, who died at the age of 22 months; Will Bradley and Mrs. Ella Williams of Marathon and Mrs. Edna Davis of Truro. He was the second son of a family of 12 children. His father, mother and four sisters have preceded him to the great beyond. He leaves to mourn his departure, three children, five brothers, and a faithful and devoted companion.

All that medical aid and loving hands could do was of no avail. He bore his suffering without a murmur and peacefully passed away, surrounded by those who loved him. He was a devoted companion, a loving father, a kind and obliging neighbor and a firm believer in the golden rule: “Do unto others as ye would that they should do unto you.”

The funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Judd, after which the remains were taken to Rose Hill cemetery, near Toledo, Iowa.
