SUSAN MASEMORE BENNETT

Susan Masemore was born in Carroll county, Maryland, June 1, 1840. She passed to her eternal reward on June 19, 1916, aged 68 years and 18 days. At 17 years of age she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined the United Brethren church. She was united in marriage in 1860 to Samuel Kellar. To this union were born 13 children, only two of whom survive. In 1871 they moved with their family to Mason county, Illinois, where in 1883 Mr. Kellar passed away.

Two years later she moved to Beatrice, Nebr., where in 1887 she was married to Thomas Bennett. In 1902 Mr. Bennett passed away, since which time Mrs. Bennett has made her home with her daughters, Mrs. H. S. Vaught at Beatrice, Nebr., and Mrs. W. C. Kithcart at Earlham.

Mrs. Bennett lived true to her Savior and her church throughout her long life and though quite poorly the past two years, was ever happy in a Savior's love and ready to meet him when called. She leaves only a few near relatives but a much larger circle of friends who knew and loved her. She frequently expressed her readiness for the change and the joy she anticipated in meeting her Savior.
