Floyd Hircock, eldest son of William F. and Mary E. Hircock was born in Lincoln township, Madison county, Iowa, October 2, 1890, and departed this life at his father’s home in Winterset, January 29th, 1926, aged 35 years, 3 months and 27 days. He had been in ill health for the past year from the effect of pneumonia and a recent attack of the flu hastened his death. He was a patient sufferer during his illness and all was done that loving hands could do.

He spent his entire life in the vicinity of his birth. He united with the Church of Christ of Winterset, October 1907, and was a faithful and consistent member and was a Deacon at the time of his death.

He was united in marriage with Dola V. Patton, March 12th, 1913. To this union was born two children, Sarah Elizabeth, aged 11 years and Eugene William, aged 9 years. He leaves to mourn their loss besides his wife and children, his father and mother, one brother, Lannie R., of Lincoln township, and sister, Elsie C., at home, also his aged grandfather, William Brinson of Winterset and many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was a true Christian, an obliging neighbor, a faithful and devoted husband and kind and loving father.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. F. Clare McCallon from the Church of Christ, Sunday, January 31st.
