ANN FITZGERALD, Ankeny

Ann Fitzgerald, 71, of Bella Vista Arkansas died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born March 19, 1939 in Winterset, Iowa the daughter of Harold and Zelma Libby.

Ann was a 42 year resident of Ankeny before moving to Arkansas. During her life she was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend to all she touched. She always showed love and dedication to family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, hiking and time with her family. She was preceded in death by: her father and brother-in-law Terry Comp.

Ann is survived by: her loving husband of 50 years; Stanley Fitzgerald, whom she married July 17, 1960, her mother; Zelma Libby, of Winterset, Iowa, two sons; Kevin Fitzgerald and his wife Cari, of Ankeny, Iowa, Kurt Fitzgerald and his wife Amy, of Olathe, Kansas, one daughter; Kimberly Fitzgerald, of Ankeny, Iowa, two brothers; Phillip Libby, and his wife Sharon, of Winterset, Iowa, Steve Libby and his wife Sue, of Indianola, Iowa, one sister; Becky Comp, of Dayton, Iowa, and five grandchildren A.J., Leah, Chase, Austin and Carson.

A celebration of Ann's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be sent to the family at: www.eptingfuneralhome.webs.com . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society .
