Clarence Edwin “Buzz” Garmon, 93, of Winterset died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Madison County Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola on Thursday, Jan. 20, with Rev. Bill Branson officiating. Interment of cremains will be held at a later date at Blair Chapel Cemetery in St. Charles. Memorials may be directed to the Winterset Care Center South Activity Fund.

Clarence Edwin, the son of John Arthur Garmon and Grace Olive (Fogler) Garmon was born Dec. 31, 1917, in Lamoni, Iowa. He graduated from Truro High School and attended Bible College in Texas and Des Moines. He was united in marriage to Frances Miller on April 20, 1943, in Hollywood, Calif. In his earlier years, he worked for Lockheed Aircraft in California. He was united in marriage to Alvina Temple on Nov. 21, 1962, in Indianola. He returned to the family farm in 1957, where he farmed until retirement. He was a member of Campers for Christ and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Indianola.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Frances and Alvina; a sister, Betty Adams; and an infant brother, Eldon Eugene Garmon.

He is survived by his son, John E. Garmon of Truro; daughter, Linda L. Cox of Truro; four grandsons, four great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kale Funeral Homes.
