Thursday, February 24, 1927, page 6Charles W. Pyers, who has lived in the Van Meter neighborhood for a number of years, died Sunday, February 20th, at the Broadlawns hospital in Des Moines. He was a brother of J. H. Pyers of Winterset. He took ill with pneumonia last week and he was taken to the Des Moines hospital. There his condition did not improve.
Funeral services were held at the United Brethren church in Van Meter Tuesday and burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Pyers was born in Putnam county, Ohio, March 2nd, 1868, and came to this county when he was only a small child. He is survived by his only brother in Winterset and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Van Meter of DeSoto, Mrs. W. W. Ford of Seneca, Kansas, and Mrs. Julia King of Woodward, Oklahoma.

Charles Pyers, generally known in this vicinity as Todd Pyers, died Sunday, February 20th at Broadlawns General Hospital. The body was brought here and the funeral was held at the United Brethren church Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock.
The burial was at the Union Chapel cemetery.
