Pg 1Mrs. R. J. Dorgan, a pioneer of Lee township, died Monday morning about 5 o’clock, following a short illness with pneumonia. She was eighty-two years old.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Patrick’s church, with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Dorgan preceded his wife in death, dying about five months ago. Mrs. Dorgan is survived by three children, Mrs. John King, of Lee township and Joe and Allie at home. The Dorgan’s were early settlers of the county coming here over fifty years ago.

The death of Mrs. Bridget Dorgan, well known Lee township pioneer, occurred at her home January 10. Funeral services were held January 12 from St. Patrick’s church in Lee Township, conducted by the Rev. Father Dorgan. Interment was in St. Patrick’s cemetery.
Mrs. Dorgan was a native of Louisiana coming to Iowa when a young girl with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hoy, who settled in Polk County. After her marriage to Richard Dorgan she came to Madison county where she had made her home continuously.
The death of Mr. Dorgan occurred August 30, 1926, four months before that of his wife’s. Three children survive, Mrs. John King, Miss Alice Dorgan and Joseph Dorgan.
