Fred H. Wilkinson, member of a pioneer family in Madison county, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1971, at Memorial Hospital in Winterset. He was 94 years of age.
Mr. Wilkinson was a son of Sydney and Mary Harris Wilkinson, who were pioneers in Scott township, just south of Winterset. He was born there Feb. 22, 1876. His active life was spent there, engaged in farming. For 83 years he lived on the farm south of Winterset to which his parents moved when he was 7 years old. He had lived in Winterset since 1966.
Mr. Wilkinson was married Sept. 24, 1902, to Mary Elizabeth Cridling. Her death occurred last Sept. 9, 1970.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hugo Howell of Cumming, Mrs. George Macumber of Winterset, and Mrs. W. Ed Clark of Winterset. He also leaves 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery
