DEATH OF FRANK ELLSTON

Peru and vicinity was shocked and saddened last week when it became known that Mr. Ellston was critically ill of kidney trouble, and almost before the community realized he was ill came the announcement of his death. His wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nichols, had him brought to their home that he might be nearer the doctor, and also that they might help care for him, and he died there Dec. 29th. The sympathy of all goes out to the widow and little daughter. The funeral was held at Truro last Friday conducted by Rev. Milholland of Peru. The following OBITUARY prepared for us.

Frank Albert Ellston was born in White Oak Township Warren County, Iowa, October 29th, 1889, and departed this life Dec. 29th, 1915, aged 26 years and 2 months. He passed away at the home of his wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Nichols, after an illness of three weeks. He was the oldest son of E. A. and Nora Ellston, and moved with his parents to Truro when about 13 years of age, living in Warren and Madison Counties all of his life. He was married Oct. 9th, 1911, to Miss Zella Nichols. To this union was born one child, Harriett Bernice, who, with her mother, remain to mourn the untimely death of husband and father. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Osceola, where they worked on a farm, until the following January when they moved to Barney and resided in Madison County until his death.

The deceased also leaves a father and one own sister, Mrs. Allie Delong, and three half sisters and two half brothers. His mother died Sept. 18th, 1898, at Indianola. He also leaves other relatives and host of friends.

Five years ago he gave himself to God, and lived a faithful christian life until he received the call to come up higher. A good man, a kind neighbor, a loving husband and father, has gone from our midst.
