It came as a hock to neighbors and friends last Sunday morning on hearing the news that Mis Hazel Frey had died very suddenly that morning of heart trouble.

Although she had been sick since Thanksgiving, her family did not realize the severity of the disease. Her father, Jim Frey, was ready to take the train to visit his son Seth, who is seriously ill in Memphis, Nebr., when a telephone message reached him telling of his daughter's death.

Funeral services were held from the Friends' church Tuesday afternoon. Obituary next week.

HAZEL ELLEN FRY

Hazel Ellen Fry, daughter of James L. Fry, was born in Dallas county, Iowa, Oct. 19, 1886 and died Dec. 19, 1915, aged 29 years, 2 months and 23 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure for the better land, father, mother, four brothers: Seth of Memphis, Nebr., Willard, who is teaching in Oskaloosa, Horace and Bernard at home; and one young sister, Mary; a small niece and nephew and a large number of relatives and friends.

Hazel has always felt a great interest in her younger cousins and especially for her only sister, often expressing a desire that “Mary do right”. She was always happy when her small cousins were with her and her happiest moments were in service for others. In this way she best served her Master whom she delighted to honor. She cultivated her extraordinary ability and talent of going into homes and administering the proper and necessary services where there was sickness or help needed. She was fond of music and last week she requested Mary to sing “Lead Me Gently Home Father.”

In 1907 she united with the Friends' church, from which place the funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Haworth, assisted by Rev. Demaree. The floral offering were beautiful in their profusion showing the high esteem in which this young woman was held by her family, relatives and friends.
