Dale Clark, the twenty-two year old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Clark of Douglas township died Wednesday afternoon about 3 o’clock after a short illness. He took ill with quimsy about ten days ago and inflammation set in, he became critically ill a day before his death.

Funeral services will be held at the Clark home tomorrow, Friday morning at 10 o’clock and burial will be made in the McDonald cemetery.

Mr. Clark was born and raised in this county. He is survived by his parents, four brothers Ersie, Vernon, Harvey and Clarence, and three sisters, Florence, Mrs. Lois Taylor, and Mrs. Gladys McDonald.

William Dale, son of William V. and Mary Clark, was born in Douglas township, Madison county, Iowa, August 26th, 1904.

He attended the Douglas Center school and later worked at home and in the home neighborhood. For the past two years he has been farming for himself and living at home.

Dale was known as a good worker, honest and industrious, always willing to do more than his share. He was true and steady and liked every thing substantial and good. He was kind and helpful to others, genuine and thoughtful in the home and extremely devoted to his mother.

After a brief illness, he passed away on November 17th, 1926, aged 22 years, 2 months and 22 days. He leaves besides his mother and father, four brothers and three sisters, Ersie Clark of Burlington, Vernon and Harry of near Winterset, Mrs. Lois Koehler and Mrs. Gladys McDonald of Madison county, and his brother, Clarence and sister, Florence in the home, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the home Friday, November 19th, conducted by Rev. F. Clare McCallon. Burial was made in the McDonald cemetery.
