Robert Breeding received a telegram Monday telling of the death of his uncle, John Odell, of Castle Rock, South Dakota. He was killed in an auto accident, but none of the particulars are known. He was sixty years of age, and a brother of Mrs. Fannie A. Breeding.

The funeral is being held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at Tidrick’s funeral home, and burial will be in the local cemetery.

Mr. Odell was born and raised in this county, living between Winterset and St. Charles until about twenty-four years ago when he moved to South Dakota. He is survived by his son, and two sisters, Mrs. Breeding, and Mrs. D. W. Sayre of Morgan, Minnesota.

John Odell Killed in Auto Accident

John Odell, sone of Sol Odell, who lived for many years near Peru, was killed in an auto accident at Central Rock, South Dakota. The body arrived in Winterset this morning and the funeral was held this (Thursday) afternoon at Tidrick' funeral home. No detail of the accident are available.
Mr. Odell was a brother of Mrs. F.A. Breeding and an uncle of Charles and Robert Breeding.

John Odell was born in Ohio on October 29th, 1860. He was the son of Solomon ad Frances Odell. He was married to Emily Simpson, and to this union was born five children, Solomon, Asa, James and Dicy preceding him in death.

He leaves to mourn his loss, one son, Ralph and three grandchildren, all of Newell, South Dakota; and two sisters, Mrs. Worth Sayre of Morgan, Minnesota, and Fanny Breeding of Winterset.

Mr. Odell became a member of the United Brethren church in early manhood and was a member of this church at the time of his death.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. Clare McCallon Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock and burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
