FARMER KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT

Jas. Mulvihill Struck By Great Western Train While Driving Truck

James Mulvihill, one of the early settlers of Lee township and one of the largest land owners in Madison county, died this morning about 10:30 o’clock as the result of a crossing accident on the Great Western.

Mr. Mulvihill was struck by the Great Western fast mail train as he started home from Cummings with a truck load of cement. The accident occurred at about seven o’clock this morning. An ambulance was called out and Mr. Mulvihill was sent to a hospital in Des Moines. He died on the way and his body was taken to the McDermott funeral parlors. This afternoon it will be returned to the Mulvihill home in Lee township and funeral services will be held Saturday morning, October 23 at the St. Patrick’s church.

Mrs. Mulvihill was formerly Miss Julia Cunningham, a daughter of the late John Cunningham. They have one son, James Jr., who with his wife and three children, live on the home farm close to their parents.

Note: Burial was made at St. Patrick’s cemetery.
