Leon R. Lent, who has been ill for several months, died Saturday afternoon about 2:30 o’clock at his home three miles south of Winterset. Mr. Lent was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Lent and was born at Ellston, Iowa. He enlisted in the World war from Greenfield, but after the close of the conflict, located in Madison county.

He is survived by his wife and two children, Maxine and Orval, his parents, two brothers, Clarence and Artie, and one sister, Ina Lent.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. J. Shenton at 11 o’clock Monday, September 13th, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Leon R. Lent, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Lent, was born in Ellston, Iowa, December 19th, 1889. His home was three miles south of Winterset. After an illness he passed away at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon, September 11th, 1926.

He was united in marriage to Mable Lucile George on May 10th, 1919, at Creston. Two children were given to this union: Maxine, aged 6 and Orval, aged 4. Mr. Lent was a World war soldier, leaving Greenfield for the training came in June 1918, six months before the close of the conflict. He was a member of the Legion and of the Modern Woodmen. His widow, two children, father and mother, two brothers, Clarence and Artie Lent, and one sister, Ina Lent, are bereaved by his death.

The funeral was held at the Methodist Episcopal church in Winterset, Monday, September 13th, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. D. J. Shenton. Interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.
