The Rev. Lucian Edgar Follansbee, for six years pastor of the Christian church in Winterset, died at the Des Moines Methodist hospital July twenty-first. He had spent eleven months in the hospital suffering with an incurable disease.
Rev. Follansbee was born in Boston in 1865 and for many years had made his home in Iowa. He had spent twenty-four years in lecturing for the Midland Chautauqua and lyceum bureau, entering that work before leaving Winterset.
The Follansbee family made their home in Winterset from 1897 to 1903, during the time of his pastorate. He was a genial man with a host of friends. The large membership which the church enjoyed was due to a great extent to his personal work.
Funeral services were conducted from his home in Des Moines July twenty-third, in charge of the Odd Fellows of which he was a prominent member. Mrs. Follansbee survives.
