Pg 1William Frank Doak, a former resident of this county, died at his home August 5th, at the Dalles, Oregon, after a lingering illness. He is survived by a brother, Thomas, of this county, a widow, a son, Maurice, a brother, M. C. Doak of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Sidel of Iowa.
He was born in this county October 5th, 1877, and left in 1896 to go to Oregon. He planted a cherry orchard and became a pioneer in the growing of commercial fruit in that state. From 1914 on for several years he owned a store in The Dalles. He was buried in the west.
