FARMER COMMITS SUICIDE

A. Y. McFarlane, of Jackson Township, Commits Suicide. Was Eighty Three Years Old

A. Y. McFarlane, an aged farmer of Jackson township, living three miles north of Pitzer, committed suicide Saturday by shooting himself through the breast. Mr. McFarlane has been in feeble health for some time, having sustained two strokes of apoplexy.

He worried considerably over his financial affairs though he was a man of considerable wealth. McFarlane was one of the parties on whom young Robison forged notes, and is believed that this weighed heavily on his mind, and that it was partially the cause of his suicide.

No inquest was held, the county attorney after investigation deciding that it was a plain case of suicide. Mr. McFarlane was highly esteemed in the community where he has lived many years. He was eighty three years old.
