Page 10Julia Ann Conrad was born December 25th, 1850, in Crawford county, Illinois, being the youngest daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Conrad, and passed away after a two weeks’ illness at her home in Madison county on July 17th, 1926, aged 75 years, 6 months and 22 days. With her parents she moved from Illinois to Kansas, later moving to Iowa.
She was united in marriage to John Able Campbell on December 14th, 1874. To this union were born two daughters, one dying in infancy, and Mrs. Theo Harrell in the home. The golden wedding anniversary of this marriage was celebrated in 1924.
She was converted at the age of 12 years and joined the United Brethren church, later uniting with the Methodist church at Winterset. Uniting with the church in early childhood, she lived not for self alone, but for the betterment of those about her. She was always anxious to attend church services, when health permitted.
Five years ago she had her first stroke and has been in frail health since. Patient and kind at all times, thinking of others who took the steps to care for her.
Those surviving her, beside her husband and daughter, are a brother and sister living in Kansas and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 1 o’clock Monday conducted by Rev. W. Z. Allen. Interment was made in the Rock City cemetery.
