Little Madelyn Compton, the five year old daughter of Mrs. Grace Compton, died yesterday morning in Des Moines at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Gideon Cook, at 4 o’clock in the morning. Madelyn had not been strong for several years, and she took the whooping cough about six weeks ago. This developed into asthma, which caused her death.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at Lily’s Funeral home in Des Moines, and the body was brought here for burial in the Rock City cemetery. She is survived by a sister, Margaret, and her mother.
