Mrs. Angeline Shade died this morning about three o’clock at her home in Douglas township. She had what was thought to be a stroke of paralysis, May 15th, and has since been sick. She was nearly 67 years of age, and has lived in this county for the past fifteen years, coming here in 1911 from Boone county.

Definite funeral arrangements have not yet been made, but it is thought that it will be held Friday afternoon at the home, and burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.

She is survived by six children, Mrs. Carey Platts of Union township, Mrs. William Bailey of Douglas township, George and Leland at Luther, and Mildred and Calvin at home. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Mary Leland of Great Falls, Montana, Mrs. Jane Tayne, Mrs. Lizzie Martin and George Abraham at Luther.

Angeline A. Shade

Angela Maria Abraham, daughter of James and Maria Abraham, was born in the province of Ontario, Canada, September 2nd, 1859, and died at her home near Winterset July 1st, 1926, aged 66 years, and 10 months.

She emigrated to Boone county, Iowa, with her parents in 1866 and live the remainder of her life in Iowa. She moved with her husband and family to Wright county, Iowa, in 1903, and from there moved Winterset in 1911 where she has since resided.

She was united in marriage to Calvin A. Shade October 27th, 1887. To this union were born six children, all of whom survive, as follows: Isabella M. Platts of Winterset, Estella C. Bailey of Winterset, Mildred E. at home, George W. and Leland M. of Luther, Iowa, and James C. at home. One grandson, George W Bailey, and three sisters, Mary A. Leland of Great Falls, Montana, Jane E Payne and Lizzie A. Martin of Luther, Iowa, also one brother, George B. Abraham of Luther survive her. Mr. Shade passed away September 12th, 1919.

She was a loving wife and mother, and a conscientious friend always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need until her health would no longer permit.

The funeral service was held Friday afternoon at the home, Rev. Shenton officiating. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
