Nancy Jane Porter was born January 13th, 1850, in Indiana and past away on May 16th, at 12:30 at her home, aged 76 years, 4 months and 3 days.

She was united in marriage to Wm. Weaver October 11th, 1869 and to this union twelve children were born, eight boys and four girls, of which eight are left to mourn her loss. Seventeen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also mourn her loss.

She was converted and joined the Methodist church some 40 years ago of which she was a faithful member. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and worked for that organization as long as her health permitted.

She was conscious up until the last few hours of her sickness. She prayed the Lord to hasten the time if she could not recover. She was a devoted companion and mother and asked the Lord to care for her loved ones she was leaving behind.

Her sickness only lasted a few days and she made her own funeral arrangements, choosing her sons and grandsons for pallbearers.

Funeral services were conducted by her minister, Rev. C. Rorkin, of Manilla, Iowa.

Note: Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
