Death of Good Woman

The neighbors and friends of Mrs. I. Paullin, who several weeks ago, went to the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. A. Cave, who lives near Redfield, were saddened to hear of her death Saturday. She had not been feeling well for some time and after going to the home of her daughter she rapidly declined. The end came May 22, 1915. The remains were brought to her late home in south Stuart the day of her death. Mrs. Paullin received every care that loving children could administer.

Mrs. Paullin was a kindly friend and neighbor, one whom you could count as being a true friend. She was considerate of those who had sickness in their homes. In the home she was all that could be desired in a loving wife and mother. She was a true Christian woman.

Mrs. Mary E. Cline was born in Ross county, Ohio, September 13, 1845, where she resided until 1847, when her parents came to Iowa and located in Louisa county. In 1854 they moved to Madison county.

She was married to Isaac Paullin in 1861. Eight children blessed this union, three of whom survive their mother and are, Mrs. J. W. Noone, Kansas City; D. W. Paullin, Stuart; Mrs. J. A. Cave Redfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Paullin resided in Louisa county until 1873 when they took up their abode in Madison county. From 1888 until 1905 they resided on a farm in Adair county and then came to Stuart, retiring from active work. Mr. Paullin’s demise occurred March 14, 1915.

The funeral was held from the Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. G. T. Roberts, the pastor, and was largely attended by relatives and friends. The remains were laid at rest by Dave Paullin, John Cave, Dave Cline, Will Paullin, Pete Cline, Harold Osborn beside those of her husband in the Simcock cemetery.
