Nat Smith died at his home in Winterset, just before noon last Thursday. While he had been in failing health for several years, the end came very suddenly. He came to Madison county when 13 years of age, and with the exception of a short time spent in Missouri and South Dakota, the rest of his life was spent in Madison county. He leaves his devoted wife, who was Fanny Stephenson, to whom he was married in 1884 and one daughter, Mrs. Sam Ogedo of Valley Junction. Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian church on Sunday, conducted by Dr. LeRoy C. Cooley.
