The funeral of Mrs. Inman, who died while visiting at the home of her son, Pete Inman, north of town, was held at the Friends’ church, Sunday afternoon. Her pastor, of the United Brethren church, preached the sermon.

Thursday, April 24, 1924Mrs. Rachel R. Inman, daughter of William and Malinda Ridlen, was born in Marion County, Iowa, Sept. 6th, 1855, and passed away at the home of her son, Powers near Earlham, Iowa, April 19th, 1924, at the age of 68 years, 7 mo. 13 days.
She grew to womanhood on the farm in Marion County, and on July 4th, 1873 was united in marriage to S. L. Inman at Knoxville. They had the privilege of celebrating the 50th anniversary of their marriage July 4th of last year, surrounded by their children.
To this union 9 children were born. Two, Walter and Alta died in infancy. The seven living are: Asa, or Oakland, Iowa, Mrs. Lillie Jones and Mrs. Jennie Pope, of Mason City, Luah, of Rockwell, Powers Lemuel and Russell of Earlham. Those remain with the husband to mourn the loss of a kind companion and mother, besides two sisters, twenty-four grandchildren, a number of distant relatives and a large circle of friends.
In September 1884, Mr. and Mrs. Inman moved from Marion to Fremont County, moving again in 1885 to Pottawatamie county where they made their home until 1905, when they moved to Dallas county which has since been their home.
At the age of 15 years she was converted and united with the Methodist Church, where she remained a member until they moved in the Hickory Grove neighborhood, where she united with the United Brethren church to which she remained faithful until called from labor to reward.
Funeral services were held at the Friends church in Earlham, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. T. O. Jones, assisted by Rev. John -----, after which the body was laid to rest in Earlham cemetery.
