Page 4Amos Allen, a former resident of Madison county, died Saturday afternoon of heart failure, at his home, 1208 West 12th street, Des Moines, after an illness of one day. Mr. Allen was 51 years of age and was born at Peru. He was the son of Obediah Allen, and in 1902 married Miss Alice Rollstin of Winterset. For the past twenty years, he has made his home in Des Moines. He is survived by his wife and three children, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the U. P. church in Winterset and interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Page 3Amos L. Allen died of heart failure at his home 1208 West Twelfth St., Des Moines, Saturday, May 3, after one day’s illness. He was born at Peru, Oct. 25, 1872 and lived in that community during his young manhood. He served in the Spanish-American war. He was married to Miss Alice Rollstin of Winterset, on March 18, 1902. For the greater part of the past 22 years, he has resided in Des Moines, where he engaged in the real estate business.
He leaves, besides his wife, three children: Beatrice, Doris and Donald; a niece, Mrs. Marie Agard, who lived in his home previous to her marriage; five brothers: Albert, Cary, Nelson, Rufus and Glenn; two sisters: Miss Gladys Allen and Mrs. Grace James. One daughter, Thelma, died at the age of 16 months. Besides these, he leaves many relatives and friends who will mourn his loss.
Funeral services were held at the home May 6th at 10 o’clock and at the United Presbyterian church in Winterset at 2 o’clock. Interment was in the Winterset cemetery.
