After a month’s illness Mrs. Annie Donahue died at her home in Winterset on April 19th, aged seventy-seven years. She was a native of Ireland, but had lived in America for seventy-five years with a record of fifty years in Union township. Mrs. Donahue is survived by three daughters and one son and a host of warm friends who have known her for years. Rev. Luke Plunkett conducted the funeral services at St. Joseph’s church on April 21. Interment was made in St. Patrick’s cemetery.

Mrs. Annie Donahue was born in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland in 1847, and died in Winterset, Iowa, on April 19, 1924. She came to Philadelphia when two years of age and lived there five years. Then Madison county became her home. Half a century was spent in Union township. Thirty-four years ago, her husband, Michael Donahue died. She has lived in Winterset for seven years. Her death was preceded by an illness of four weeks.

She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Mary Lombard of Chicago, Mrs. Margaret Mills of Los Angeles and Miss Kate Donahue of Des Moines; also by one son, John Donahue of Chicago.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s church on Monday morning, with Rev. Luke Plunkett in charge. Burial took place in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
