Robert Rutledge Tidrick, son of Lee and Alice Tidrick, was born in Winterset, August 7, 1901, where he spent his boyhood days. He graduated from the high school in 1919. The following year he attended business college in Des Moines and a few months later went to Lankershim, Calif., a suburb of Los Angeles. He started work as a bookkeeper for a lumber company and continued in their employ until the time of his death. He was faithful in his tasks and was appreciated by his employers and business associates.

He was a member of the Sunday school of the First Presbyterian church from childhood and united with the church, Feb. 25, 1912, and he was a member of this church at the time of his death. As a boy, Robert was genial and lovable and a general favorite with old and young. As he grew to manhood the same kindly nature with courtesy and thoughtfulness for others made him many friends who will ever cherish his memory.

He had not been in the best of health for some time, but was sick only a brief time at the last. He passed away at Lankershim, Feb. 15, 1924, aged 22 years, 6 months and 8 days. He leaves his father and mother, one sister, Mrs. Grace Alexander of Los Angeles; and two brothers: Arthur of Los Angeles and Clarence of Winterset.

The funeral service was held in the First Presbyterian church of Winterset, on Feb. 21st with a sermon by the pastor, LeRoy C. Cooley, D. D. Interment was in Rock City cemetery.
