Mrs. C. E. Silverthorne of Monroe township, died on Feb. 27, after a very brief illness. She became sick on Sunday, because of a gathering in her head. The brain was affected by this and death came on Wednesday morning. Mrs. Silverthorne, who was a daughter of Charles Pheils of Missouri, is survived by Mr. Silverthorne and their four children.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o’clock at Fellowship church, burial will be in the Macksburg cemetery.

Sadie Edith Pheils was born Nov. 19, 1889 in Vernon county, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1924 at the age of 34 years, 3 months and 8 days. She was married to Elmo Silverthorne, Nov. 20, 1907. To this union six children were born, three boys and three girls. Two boys died in infancy. Those left to mourn her loss are father, mother, a loving husband and four children—Helen aged 10, Marvin aged 9, Gladys aged 4 and baby Mary Jean, aged 6 months, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

She united with the Christian Advent church at the age of 15. She always loved to attend church and Sunday school and was ever ready to lend a helping hand to others when it was so she could. Her thoughts were always of her family. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and a very obedient girl. She was laid to rest in the Macksburg cemetery on Friday, Feb. 29th, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. D. A. White.
